Fendi collaborates with K-Pop Superstar Taeyang

Taeyang, one fifth of k-pop group BIGBANG, is lending his name to a new Fendi capsule collection. The offering, ‘Fendi for TaeYang,’ borrows select pieces from the storied house’s recent autumn offering and bedecks them in Taeyang motifs — think shearling jackets embroidered with his favourite flower, the daisy, or zipper pulls etched with his Instagram moniker, Young Bae.

The capsule is set to launch July 27, the very same day Fendi reopen their Hong Kong men’s flagship. And while it’s Taeyang’s first collaboration with a luxury label, BIGBANG are no strangers to the fashion world: his bandmate G-Dragon is a Chanel ambassador and front row fixture. CL, another South Korean superstar, has also won over the international fashion set: now a muse to Jeremy Scott and a lifetime member of Alexander Wang’s #WANGSQUAD. Perhaps Taeyang will join her at NYFW soon.

[Hypebeast] G-Dragon Shows Us How He Rocks His Gabrielle Bag in Chanel’s Newest Campaign Video

The K-Pop artist joins Kristen Stewart, Willow Smith, Cara Delevingne, and Pharrell Williams.

G-Dragon is the newest face of Chanel‘s Gabrielle bag ad campaigns. Previously, celebrities such as Kristen Stewart, Willow Smith, Cara Delevingne, and Pharrell Williams got their turns to push the French fashion house’s “unisex” bag into the limelight, but now the label pivots to the massive K-Pop star. In the video, we see Dragon preparing for a big show — he’s relaxing, meditating, and making his way in-and-out of chaotic situations with the Gabrielle bag over his shoulders.

G-Dragon is widely known for his eclectic style and it makes sense why Chanel has tapped him for the campaign. Not only does he bring a type of newness and versatility to the accessory, but he can also reach the ever-expanding Asian luxury consumer.
