[Article] [YG Life] WINNER-iKON-TREASURE’s reaction to BIGBANG’s ‘Still Life’ M/V…“ONE AND ONLY”

[iMBC=백아영 기자] YG boy group’s reaction video to BIGBANG’s ‘Still Life’ was unveiled on the 16th, drawing attention from the public.

In the clip, WINNER, iKON, and TREASURE members gathered at the assembly hall of YG’s new building, which seemed like a movie theatre, to watch the M/V for BIGBANG’s new song ‘Still Life’.

Expectations were running high among the boys too, as BIGBANG was the group that led the globalization of K-POP, and made them dream of becoming an artist. The fact that they were coming back in 4 years was big news to the boys too. Ahead of watching the M/V, WINNER, iKON, and TREASURE members were asked the question, ‘What does BIGBANG mean to you?’. With the question, they all started looking back on the past.

They put out answers such as ‘BIGBANG is a frame. So many artists and music were inspired by that frame (WINNER)’, ‘They are our celebrity (iKON)’, ‘They are the ones who helped us be who we are today (TREASURE)’. They also said “We waited a long time as a junior and a fan too. It’s such an honor to be able to M.V’.

As excited as they were, as soon as the M/V for ‘Still Life’ played, they all started focusing on the clip. The vocal line were amazed by TAEYANG and DAESUNG’s part, and rappers applauded G-DRAGON and T.O.P’s part. Some members even got teary listening to the song.

After watching the M/V, WINNER said “BIGBANG is the one and only. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the music, and the weight lyrics hold really touches you”. TREASURE members then said “Different emotions can be felt. We’re looking at the present, but somehow it reminds you of the past”. iKON then added “I think it’s a story that looks back on the past and look forward to the future. It will be a good present and inspiration to fans”.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG’s ‘Still Life’ is garnering favorable reviews by music fans from all around the world with their beautiful melody and poetic lyrics. The song makes listeners look back on their youth and every single line is full of sincere stories.

The song topped the iTunes chart in 33 countries along with the Worldwide Chart. It’s also taken over the top spot of major music charts (8am as of 17th) for the 13 consecutive day such as Melon’s TOP100 24 hits, Genie music, Bugs, Vibe and FLO.

The song then recorded 3rd and 9th respectively on Billboard Global Excl. U.S and Billboard Global 200, which only took account 3 days and a half worth of records of the song, once again proving their ever-lasting popularity in the mainstream pop market.
