T.O.P Says, “I have no excuses, and I’m willing to accept any kind of punishment” [Official Apology]

[일간스포츠=김진석 기자] BIGBANG’s T.O.P (CHOI SEUNG HYUN) wrote an apology.

In the afternoon of June 4, T.O.P uploaded a written apology on the homepage and blog of YG Entertainment. He wrote, “I would like to apologize from the bottom of my heart for all the disappointment and scandal caused by my misdoing.”

He went on to say, “I’m too ashamed of myself to stand in front of people and apologize. There are no excuses for my behavior, and I deeply regret what I did. I’m afraid of what might happen in the future, and I wanted to convey my feelings in writing so that I could be cautious. I know I’ve caused irreparable pain to the members, our agency, the public, my fans, and my family, and I believe that I deserved to be punished.”

“I’m deeply saddened and disappointed in myself. I will remind myself what I did wrong and repent of my wrongdoings. This kind of irresponsible behavior will never happen again. I wanted to meet people face to face and apologize, but I’m sorry that the circumstances won’t allow me to do that. I am really ashamed of myself, and I would like to apologize once again,” added T.O.P.

The Seoul District Police accused T.O.P of violating the Act on The Control of Narcotics, etc. and sent his case to the prosecutors. According to the police, T.O.P smoked liquid marijuana with a trainee on three occasions at his house in Yongsan-gu in September last year before he started he service.

The police found this out when they were investigating the trainee and did a urine and hair test on T.O.P, the results of which came out positive. It is yet unknown if T.O.P is a habitual smoker.

His agency YG Entertainment announced, “As reported, T.O.P was charged with smoking marijuana before starting his service and was summoned by the prosecutors. He cooperated to the best of his ability with the authority during the interrogation. He admitted all the charges and feels deep regret. Once again, we would like to apologize on behalf of T.O.P”.

T.O.P took four days off, and on June 2, he went back to continue his service at the Kangnam Police Station.
