Koreans Choose Top Singers, Songs, And Idols Of 2017


Gallup Korea has released the results of its poll to determine Koreans’ favorite singers, songs, and idols in 2017.

The research company Gallup Korea conducted a survey in July, September, and November of 4,200 men and women in Korea aged 13 to 59 to find out their favorite singers and songs from this year.

Respondents wrote in the names of three singers, and IU took the lead with 15.2 percent of votes.

Check out the top 10 singers below:

1. IU (15.2 percent)
2. TWICE (9.1 percent)
3. Jang Yoon Jung (8.9 percent)
4. BTS (8.5 percent)
5. Yoon Jong Shin (7.3 percent)
6. Wanna One (7.1 percent)
7. EXO (5.7 percent)
8. BIGBANG, Lim Chang Jung (5 percent)
10. Lee Sun Hee (4.6 percent)

Other artists who made it into the top 20 (with some spots tied) included: PSY, Red Velvet, Hong Jin Young, Na Hoon-a, Lee Seung Chul, Kim Gun Mo, Lee Moon Se, Park Hyo Shin, Hwang Chi Yeol, Kim Bum Soo, and Girls’ Generation.

Gallup Korea also surveyed 1,500 men and women aged 13 to 29 to find out their favorite idols of 2017.
