[V LIVE COMPREHENSIVE] SEUNGRI Captures Hearts of Fans Worldwide in 1·2·3… ‘THE GREAT COMEBACK’ (ft. BLACKPINK♥)

[OSEN=김나희 기자] BIGBANG’s SEUNGRI communicated with his fans worldwide, with his solo comeback in 5 years ahead. They spend joyful time as the nickname ‘The Great Seungtsby’ suggests.

On July 20, SEUNGRI introduced himself to the fans by stating, “Hello, this is SEUNGRI” in the program ‘Hello? Is This SEUNGRI? Season 2’ broadcasting through Naver V App. 

He continued, “20 thousand people are watching right now. I feel how much you have waited for me. We have 100 million and 3,500 hearts already, and 150 thousand replies”, which amazed everyone.

SEUNGRI explained the reason behind his solo comeback by stating, “I didn’t have plans to make a solo comeback. But the other members of BIGBANG told me, ‘I hope you release more music and make people forget about BIGBANG’s vacancy’, so I decided to make comeback as a solo artist”.

He later revealed the physical copies of his first album ‘THE GREAT SEUNGRI’ and appealed, “We have two versions, in colors orange and lemon and they’re both pretty. Buy both”, making people burst into laughter. 

He also revealed the behind story and making film of the MV for the title song ‘1, 2, 3!’, gathering attention from the viewers. 

He explained, ‘It’s my first time working with TEDDY as a solo artist. TEDDY first told me, ‘I want to make a song that’s possible because it’s BIGBANG’s SEUNGRI’ and created a joyous and energetic track”. He added, “The song was actually recorded by BLACKPINK’s JENNIE, but people thought ‘a guy would feel better in the song’, so I sang over it. It fit me very well, so I decided to go for it, and added confidence and twist feeling to add my unique joyous color, rather than sticking to the original dark mood the song had”. 

He revealed the making film of the MV for ‘1, 2, 3!’ and explained, “We filmed everything from start to end in one take, without editing. We prepared and practiced a lot” and added that the video was inspired by John Travolta’s ‘Greece’ and ‘Saturday Night Fever’. 

He also introduced the heroine Anda from the MV and confessed that, “I had to go through a rigorous diet for this comeback. Since I work in the ramen business I gained a lot of weight. I had to lose that for my comeback”. 

He later did video calls with the fans, which was a huge upgrade from simple phone calls in ‘Hello? Is This SEUNGRI? Season 1’. He gave advice in fluent Korea, English, and Japanese while talking to fans from Korea, Philippines, and Japan, putting the people in awe. When asked about his foreign language skills, he honestly replied that “I didn’t study well when I was young”. On question regarding the friendship with BLACKPINK, he made the viewers burst into laughter by replying, “I told them to ‘treat me like a friend’, and they really did that, so we’re close. I really like BLACKPINK. I even want to become the 5^th member”. 

SEUNGRI answered the fans’ questions regarding his album until the end, sharing an energetic and joyous vibe with the fans. This is precisely the reason why people are looking forward to his ‘GREAT COMEBACK’. 

Meanwhile, SEUNGRI will announce ‘THE GREAT SEUNGRI’ today at 6 PM through various music platforms. The album contains a total of 9 tracks including the title song ‘1, 2, 3!’, the sub-title song ‘WHERE R U FROM’, ‘LOVE IS YOU’, ‘MOLLADO’, ‘SWEET LIE’, ‘BE FRIEND’, ‘HOTLINE’, ‘ALONE’, and ‘GOOD LUCK TO YOU’.
